I used to have penpals; apparently that's not really a thing anymore.
This writing journal is a collection of anecdotes about my past lives in Berkeley, LA, and China. It’s also about my daily life as a mom in San Luis Obispo.
Sometimes I post quite long, narrative-dense pieces: Up and Down West St is a novella-length love story set in Oakland, an attempt at an inversion of Dante's La Vita Nuova. The story of Bear is about a stuffed animal with a dark past. Escaping the Male Gaze details my journey with haircuts, and eventually shaving my head postpartum. The Heart Adjacent is a teenage love story – this might seem ridiculously obvious, but don't date your neighbor.
